Friday Morning Intensive Sessions (April 19)

When you join us at the Seeking Whole Health Conference, you know you’ll hear from amazing speakers, gain new insights, and expand your knowledge.

But there’s only so much a speaker can share in 45 minutes.

If you want to take your learning to the next level and go deep on a certain topic, you need something that

  • Gives you more time to learn and ask questions
  • Hosts a smaller crowd so you can get more time with the speaker
  • And even offers some hands-on experience or live demonstrations

Does that sound like something you’d love? If so, we have just the thing for you!

Join a Premium Friday Intensive Experience

On Friday morning, before our conference officially kicks off, we’re hosting 4 Friday Intensive sessions that give you a premium learning experience. You’ll love what these exciting options have to offer!

  • Discover how to transform raw honey into a host of herbal remedies that even the most skeptical friend or family member will happily take with herbalist and enthobotanist Dawn Combs.
  • Unravel the big, scary world of cancer care and learn different how to manage it holistically, with or without conventional treatment, with cancer survivor Yvonne Fey, LMT and Marvin Hershberger, ND.
  • Begin turning your kitchen into a probiotic powerhouse by fermenting vegetables, bread dough, dairy, and kombucha with local farmer and healing foods advocate Kimberly Hartzler.
  • Give your kids an early start with herbal remedies and herb growing with fun, hands-on activities and experiences with family herbalist, farmer, and homeschooling mom Karen Geiser.

Last year’s Friday Intensives were a conference highlight for many of our attendees, and we expect this year’s to be no different.

The Friday Intensives were my favorite part of the whole conference. I learned so much and it made me excited to go home and get started on my own!

About Each Intensive Option

Honey-Based Herbal Remedies

Join herbalist and enthnobotanist Dawn Combs as she shows you how to make a host of delicious yet effective herbal remedies with honey. You’ll dive into the world of electuaries, pastilles, honey tinctures, and more! At Soda Farm, Dawn’s herb and wellness shop, she’s created an entire line of tasty and effective honey-based herbal remedies. Now you get to learn how she does it! Herbal medicine has never tasted so good.

Holistic Cancer Care Options

Cancer can be a scary word, but there’s hope. Massage therapist Yvonne Fey knows what it’s like to face the diagnosis and come out well on the other side. She’ll share her healing journey and how she combined allopathic and holistic treatments. Next, naturopath Marvin Hershberger will dive into some surprising ways to reduce your cancer risk or improve your outcomes if you ever face the disease. As someone who specializes in complimentary oncology care, he’ll help you understand how genetics, diet, lifestyle, and more can all shape cancer risks and outcomes.

The Fermented Kitchen

You know your gut health matters, but did you know you don’t have to rely on expensive probiotic supplements to keep things in good shape? Join real moms Kimberly Hartzler of Selah Farms and Joy Steiner as they demonstrate just how easy it is to create all sorts of healing, fermented foods in your own kitchen. Demonstrations include:
  • Satisfying sourdough bread
  • Bubbly, refreshing kombucha
  • Thick, smooth homemade yogurt
  • Tangy fermented vegetables
  • Gut-healing, tasty condiments

Junior Herbalism for Kids

As an adult, you’ve dreamed about what it would have been like to learn about natural health as a young, carefree child. Now, you can give your kids the opportunity to do just that in this class geared for independent kids ages 10 and up. Family herbalist, farmer, and veteran homeschooling mom Karen Geiser will keep your kids engaged and active as they learn about and experience foundational herbal remedies and create some great take-home projects. We’re offering this class at a family-friendly price, too.

All the Details You Need

Our Friday Intensive Experiences will kick off Friday morning (April 19) at 8:30 am with registration opening at 8 am. We’ll go over some logistics together before breaking up into separate sessions.

After 90 minutes of deep learning, we’ll take a quick break, then get back into the rest of each session. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions during these interactive experiences, during the break, and at the end.

If you choose to join us for the Friday breakout sessions, you’ll have an hour or so to enjoy lunch (packed or Grab & Go from the Conference registration page) before we start our conference breakouts.

And if you’re checking out after the intensives, you’ll have some time to rest, connect, and maybe pick up a Grab & Go lunch before heading out for the day.

I loved how passionate the presenters were! The moments of chatter and connection made the whole experience even more impactful, too.

FAQs

You sure can! This is a stand-alone experience that you can purchase separately. Most of our Friday Intensive attendees will join us for the rest of the conference, but we’d be delighted to host you for just this part if that’s all you can join.

Because our Friday Intensives are limited capacity, children can only join with a paid ticket. Honestly, unless they join the Junior Herbalism for Kids intensive, they’d probably be bored anyway. 😉 Nursing and lap babies are welcome, though! No ticket needed for those little bundles.

To make sure we have enough room for the kids who want to join this class, we aren’t allowing adults to join. This will be a kids-only zone guided by a trustworthy, veteran homeschooling mom. Instead, we encourage you to join one of the other Friday Intensives, then peek in on your kiddo during our break time.

You know your child best! If he/she is genuinely interested in this topic and can work mostly independently for up to an hour at a time, you’re welcome to register. We suggest 10 as a minimum age, but this isn’t a hard and fast rule. If you need more help deciding if this session is a good fit for your child, we’re glad to help! Send us an email at info@seekingwholehealth.com or contact us here.

Because our seats are limited, tickets are non-refundable. However, if you end up unable to attend, we can transfer your ticket to someone else. Just email us at info@seekingwholehealth.com with your order information and the contact information for the person receiving your ticket up to 48 hours before the event. After that, we are unable to transfer tickets.

Only if you have the uncanny ability to be in two places at once. In reality, you’ll have to choose one Friday Intensive that sparks your interest most. If there are two you really want to attend, find a friend to join you. You go to one, your friend goes to the other, and you both teach each other what you learned. Research shows that teaching someone else is the best way to make your learning stick!

At this time, we aren’t able to offer conference recordings. We hope to offer this soon! If you know someone with experience who can help make this happen, please email us at info@seekinwholehealth.com or contact us here.
